Online course on citizen science in the classroom

    The course aims to motivate teaching professionals to exploit the didactic potential of citizen science to improve learning and critical thinking about rural, natural and cultural heritage.


    The course "Citizen science applied to the teaching of natural and cultural heritage"Organized by the MammalNet Project within the offer summer courses and university extension of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM) for 2022, addresses the didactic potential of citizen science to improve students' learning motivation and critical thinking, interrelating different disciplines of science to discover rural, natural and cultural heritage.

     

    Course "Citizen science applied to the teaching of natural and cultural heritage” hosted by the MammalNet Project. It is a permanent training activity for non-university teachers approved by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha (JCCM).

    The course, which is a permanent training activity for non-university teachers approved by the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha (JCCM), will be taught in virtual format in 2 sessions: the first will take place on Friday, October 21 in the afternoon and the second on Saturday, October 22 in the morning. In these sessions, different specialists and teachers involved in citizen science projects will share their experiences in the classroom in order to motivate other teachers to use citizen science as a learning tool in the classroom.

    The deadline to enroll in the course “Citizen science applied to the teaching of natural and cultural heritage” of the MammalNet Project is October 11, 2022. Registration costs €20 for UCLM students and €40 for external staff.
