    Animal tuberculosis is a zoonotic disease with economic and social importance in some regions. Since the 1980s, titanic efforts have been made to eradicate it in cattle, its main reservoir. In recent decades, scientific research has shed light on its epidemiology, showing that cattle are not the only actor involved in the maintenance and transmission of the mycobacteria that cause this disease, there are other domestic and wild reservoirs, and highlighting that its control must be approached in an integral way.
