IREC organizes virtual training sessions on emerging zoonoses

    The sessions will take place within the framework of the next Virtual International Congress on health and wildlife conservation and are aimed at professionals in the health and environmental fields


    The Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos (IREC – CSIC, UCLM, JCCM), in collaboration with the Castilla-La Mancha Institute of Health Sciences, organizes training sessions aimed at health and environmental professionals to update on emerging zoonoses.

    The conference, entitled "Emerging zoonoses, environment and global health: latest advances in prevention and control", Are part of the activities associated with the congress"69th Wildlife Disease Association (WDA) and 14th European Widllife Disease Association (EWDA) Joint Virtual Conference”, Organized by IREC under the name of Virtual International Congress on health and wildlife conservation.

    The conference program It is structured in 2 sessions of 5 hours each, which will take place on days 28th of April and October 15, 2021 so completely virtual.

    The sessions will take place within the framework of the next International Virtual Congress on health and wildlife conservation, are aimed at professionals in the field of health and the environment, and are totally virtual and free.

    During the first working day The scenarios in which the new zoonoses emerge will be framed and the tools that, from research, technological advancement and management, are applied for the study, prevention and control of numerous zoonoses will be presented. This first session will close with a roundtable discussion on the integration of science and public health services in the prevention and fight against emerging zoonoses.

    The second round will be held after the WDA Virtual International Congress, which will take place August 31 and September 2, 2021, in order to offer the latest scientific advances that, within said congress, are contributed on emerging zoonoses. In the framework of a discussion table, it will be discussed how we should prepare for the next zoonoses based on the experience accumulated with the latest zoonoses that have emerged on the planet (SARS, Avian Flu, Ebola, COVID-19).
