The exhibition "Hunting, evolving challenge" opens its doors

    The exhibition is part of the commemorative program of the 20th anniversary of the Research Institute for Hunting Resources (IREC) and takes a journey through 400,000 years of history of hunting


    On the occasion of its 20th anniversary, Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos (IREC – CSIC, UCLM, JCCM) It is celebrating its successful track record through a full program of events and commemorations. After organizing the I Iberian Congress of Applied Science at the Hunting Resources (CICARC) last July, on December 12 was inaugurated the exhibition "Hunting, an evolving challenge"Which aims to become the flagship event publicized on the hunting world and science developed by the IREC to promote sustainable hunting.

    The exhibition "Hunting, an evolving challenge"Seeks to immerse the visitor in the world of hunting through a tour of its 400,000-year history.

    The exhibition has been a reality thanks to the joint collaboration of the IREC, the Council Superior of Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC), the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), the Regional Government of Castile-La Mancha (JCCM), the Council Ciudad Real, the Artemisan Foundation, the Interprofessional Association Game Meat (ASICCAZA) and the provincial Museum of Ciudad Real.

    The presentation ceremony was addressed by the President of Castilla-La Mancha, Emiliano García-PageWho he highlighted the value of hunting as a key activity for the socioeconomic development of the regionEspecially of their rural areas, and he stressed the essential role of science for resolving environmental conflicts, health, technological and socio-economic associated with the practice of hunting and management.

    Hunting, an evolving challenge"Seeks to immerse the visitor in the world of hunting through a tour of its 400,000 years of history. By using original parts, panels, murals, stage sets, exhibition showcases and projections, the exhibition ranges from the hunter-gatherer man from the Palaeolithic to the modern day hunting.

    Throughout this time travel covers aspects such as ecological and evolutionary basis of predation, the transformation of the arts and technologies linked to venatoria activity, the domestication of the dog and the art of falconry, the use of products derived from hunting and socioeconomic and cultural importance of venatoria activity, as well as actors or professions of the hunting world.

    It also addresses the importance of hunting as a tool for conservation of ecosystems and biodiversity and of science as a basis for game management in line with the conservation of our natural heritage.

    An exceptional collection of original pieces, panels, murals, stage sets, exhibition showcases and projections will immerse visitors in the world of hunting through a tour of its 400,000-year history.
