The cycle of conferences of "The Hunt: A Challenge in Evolution" will continue in June 2021

    Three presentations will give continuity to the cycle of conferences of "The Hunt: An Evolving Challenge”Throughout the month of June 2021

    The cycle of conferences associated with the exhibition of "The Hunt: An Evolving Challenge”, Organized by the Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos (IREC – CSIC, UCLM, JCCM) in collaboration with the Association of Friends of the Museum of Ciudad Real, has concluded the month of May 2021 with four presentations.

    In the first half of May, Professor D. Germán Delibes de Castro, Professor of the Department of Prehistory at the University of Valladolid, spoke to us about the “The prehistoric roots of hunting”; while Dña. Emilia Martínez Garrido, Professor of the Department of Geography of the Autonomous University of Madrid, spoke to us about “Hunting landscapes in Spain”.

    In the second half of last month, Mr. Pablo Campos Palacín, Research Professor the Nightingale of the Institute of Policies and Public Goods (IPP - CSIC), spoke to us about “Hunting, nature and society”; and Mr. José Manuel Fradejas Rueda, Professor of the Department of Spanish Language at the University of Valladolid, proposed a presentation on “Hunting in the peninsular Middle Ages”.

    Throughout the month of June, the conference cycle will continue with 3 presentations that will cover other areas of culture and knowledge in which hunting is also present. The first of the conferences, entitled “Hunting, an evolving challenge, but where?”, será impartida el martes 8 de junio por D. Juan Carranza, Catedrático de Universidad y Director de la Unidad de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos y Piscícolas (UIRCP) de la Universidad de Córdoba.

    El miércoles 16 de junio tendrá lugar la segunda conferencia de este mes, tendrá por título “Hunting in art” y será impartida por D. Juan Mario Vargas, Catedrático del Departamento de Biología Animal de la Universidad de Málaga. Para concluir, el miércoles 23 de junio D. Santiago Ballesteros Rodríguez, autor de “Don Quijote: Gran Madrugador y Amigo de la Caza”, impartirá la ponencia titulada “Cervantes, caza y Quijote”.
