The Degree in Biotechnology at the ETSIAM organizes a conference to learn about the lines of research at the UCLM

    The conference, which will be held on February 8, 9 and 10, 2021, has the objective that students know the lines of research of the UCLM groups with a view to carrying out research stays within the program “Estancias ”.

    The Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineers and Montes de Albacete (ETSIAM) of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), through the Degree in Biotechnology, will hold a conference through which will present openly the main lines of research from various UCLM groups.

    The objective of the sessions is for the students to get to know the different research groups of the UCLM in order to enjoy the "Research stays" program which will be launched this year in the Degree. On the other hand, the conference is framed within the 11 F - International Day of Women and Girls in Science, so that the lines of research will be presented by professors and researchers from the UCLM.

    The days of presentation of the research lines of the UCLM will be held on February 8, 9 and 10, 2021.

    By the Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos (IREC – CSIC, UCLM, JCCM)It will be on February 9 from 4:00 p.m. when the researchers Margarita Villar, Isabel Fernández de Mera, Marinela Contreras and Irene Sánchez Sánchez-Ajofrín will present some of the lines of research that our Research Group in Health and Biotechnology (SaBio).

    At the opening of the conference, the Rector of the UCLM, Professor Julián Garde, will be accompanied by the Dr. Ana Céspedes, Global Chief Operating Officer of IAVI, a New York-based global organization dedicated to developing vaccines and antibodies for infectious diseases, with the goal of making them affordable and accessible. Among other areas, IAVI focuses on diseases such as AIDS, tuberculosis, and COVID-19.

    Ana is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Healthcare Chapter of IESE and of the Scientific Council of the Propatiens Institute, an organization dedicated to reinforcing the role of patient organizations in the health system. She is also an ambassador for the #LasMujeresNosMovemos initiative, a social movement aimed at helping women improve the quality of life in all areas.

    In her role as a social entrepreneur, Ana is a great defender of the need for simple tools and quality training that allow people to manage the complexity of our most important project, our own lives. With that mission, he created the Living Mindfulness platform in 2018.
