Biodiversity at UCLM

Since 2017, the gardens of the headquarters of the Instituto de Investigación en Recursos Cinegéticos (IREC – CSIC, UCLM, JCCM), located on the Ciudad Real Campus of the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), are managed to enhance their biodiversity.

The elimination of the use of pesticides, the planting of meadows with flowers, the planting of native shrubs and the placement of a fountain are measures that have begun to bear fruit to make a more biodiverse and pleasant work environment.

For this reason, from IREC we make a monitoring of bird and plant species that surround us in our workplace and we make this information available to society to raise awareness of the importance of conserving our biodiversity also in urban environments.

The birds that surround us

If you want to check the list of birds observed in the IREC environment or add your own observations, you just have to access the following E-bird App link.
